Dunkelheit is the only European alternative music dance party in Washington, DC. Dunkelheit means “darkness” in German and it lives up to its name by featuring the best dark electro music from the other side of the Atlantic.

Oktoberfest! Can’t make it to Munich this year? Don’t worry; we will have a large assortment of imported German beers to satisfy your thirst! In addition to Becks, we will have Bitburger, St. Pauli Girl, Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier, Spaten Oktoberfest and Spaten Dunkel. Come early. A limited supply and a low price of $5 each, guarantee these beers will go fast.

The Guest DJ is djBLACK ADAM. While living in NYC, he spun at Club Rare and Apocalypse Lounge, as well as hosted Altered State at Artland. djBLACK ADAM started his own radio program called Digital Chaos, which played industrial music and hosted interviews on the air once a week for 4 years. His experience also includes an internship at Metropolis Records. To give you an idea of his style, djBLACK ADAM is a die hard Wax Trax rivet head!

Zatch Creations is the vendor for October. Zatch Creations is a new chain mail and leather work vendor, with light and heavy pieces for men and women alike. Zatch Creations also welcomes all sorts of custom requests, and can be contacted at ZatchCreations at gmail.com. Free Fright at the Museum tickets! We will be giving away 2 pairs of tickets to the Fright at the Museum event at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment. Mighty Mike Saga CD giveaways! We will have lots of Mighty Mike Saga CDs to promote his guest spot at the November Dunkelheit. Stay tuned for details regarding this highly anticipated event.

Dunkelheit has residents DJ Panic and Hardware, special guest Doomlaut downstairs (www.myspace.com/doomlaut), two bars, large dance floor, private smoking deck, and a kitchen serving up delicious Ethiopian and American food. Don’t forget to bring cash for the upstairs bar since credit cards are only accepted downstairs.

Dunkelheit is located at Asefu, 1920 9th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009 (Between T and U Streets). The club is Metro accessible from the yellow/green lines at U Street Station. Take the Vermont Avenue exit, walk one block on U Street and make a right onto 9th Street. There are also two small pay parking lots on the same block as Asefu as well as street parking.

Dunkelheit is open from 9pm to 3am. 18+ with valid ID. Cover is $5.
