This week we begin the regular incarnation of Arcadia. Most weeks this
will feature a total of four DJs, two mostly spinning downstairs and
two mostly spinning upstairs. This week, however, we have an
extra-packed lineup, as Steve Archer will also be joining us.

Arcadia's DJs all have been spinning around the area for years, so you
may very well already have become familiar with their styles, but for
those of our regulars who may not have yet checked them out at their
other gigs, we will offer a brief introduction each week this month.

This week joining us on the downstairs floor, we have DJ Swank. Swank
was on the team who helped bring you chiar0scuro at The Edge for
several years, and currently combines with Arcane once a month to
present MetaPop at the Black Cat. To give you an idea what you might
hear in his sets, his current top ten favourite bands:

Camouflage - Depeche Mode - De/Vision - Iris - Melotron
Mesh - The Nine - Pet Shop Boys - Voice Industrie - Wolfsheim

This week upstairs we will be joined by mz.bat (who is also belatedly
celebrating her birthday). With goth DJ roots dating back to the early
90s in Louisville and Cincinnati, mz. bat has been spinning locally
for several years. She was a resident DJ for The Garden until its
closure in 2006, and currently is a resident of Ascension at Orpheus
in Baltimore. Some of her current "music to die for" includes:

When we asked, most people told us they would like to hear a little of
all the DJs
spinning in both areas, so we are building the schedule to accomodate that.
