Martin Atkins comes to DC this week to share some of his extensive
experience from 30+ years in the music industry. He will be giving a
90-minute presenation, followed by an information Q&A session, plus a DJ set
later on the roof deck, and offering copies of his book for sale.

The 600-page book, released in September of '07, contains chapters on
everything from routing and geography, to drugs, merchandising, and how to
get a better live sound... and in addition to deposing Martin's experience
as a touring musician, label owner, and tour manager, Tour:Smart also
contains contributions from over 100 industry professionals: musicians,
booking agents, managers, club owners, publicists, bus drivers, police
officers, groupies, and more!

Martin's band seminars are truly unique events... a rare opportunity for
bands to learn strategies and tips for more successful touring and
promotion. Whether you are planning a national tour, or simply want to have
more successful regional shows.
Though this information is intended mainly for live bands, much of the
advice (such as tour routing and not being ripped off by venues) is also
useful for other live performers and touring DJs.

In the DJ booths, this week we'll have DJ Swank bring you an extra helping
of synthpop tunes, and Shade bringing the goth, punk and industrial on the
roof.
Plus as always, DJs Dirty B and 2501 spinning all your favourites and
requests!!

Did we mention--The Tent is Up!
Now, we truly have two proper spaces, and our smoking patrons have heated,
covered place to hang out while taking a drag.
